Remove WebOptimum
What is WebOptimum?
WebOptimum is classified as a potentially unwanted and ad-supported application. It claims that it can provide you with beneficial deals and coupons, however, that is simply not true. The adware does not have an official page, where it could be downloaded, or a valid digital signature, which is never a good sign. It spreads with the help of freeware bundles, and could enter your computer with other unwanted programs like ShoppingReport. There is no reason why you would want to keep WebOptimum installed, because it not only floods you with unreliable commercial data, but also hijacks your browser and causes other inconveniences. We suggest that you do not waste your time and terminate WebOptimum as soon as possible.

How does WebOptimum work?
As it has already been mentioned, WebOptimum gets distributed through free third party software. It is presented to you in the installation wizard as an additional offer. Unfortunately, computer users rarely pay close attention to the installation process of free software and thus they fail to notice that they agree to adding potentially unwanted programs to their system. This can be avoided, of course, by simply choosing Advanced or Custom installation mode wherever you can and declining all optional offers.
The main symptom of the application is that it floods your browsers with advertising content. After it gets installed, you will see pop-ups, banners, hyperlinks, and other ads no matter where you choose to go online. The adware will also track your cookies and collect information about your browsing habits in order to customize the inserted commercials. Another action that it takes is modifying your browser shortcut. The extension only affects your Google Chrome shortcut, however, you will still need to fix it, if you want to eliminate WebOptimum from your system completely.
How to remove WebOptimum?
There is no question that you need to delete WebOptimum from your computer. The unwanted application inserts suspicious adverts into your browser and makes other unauthorized changes. The sooner you erase WebOptimum, the sooner you can go back to normal online surfing.
When it comes to the removal of the adware, there are two options you can choose from. You can uninstall the application manually or automatically. If you decide to go with manual removal, you will have to terminate WebOptimum via Control Panel and fix your Google Chrome shortcut. Instructions on how to complete the first step are presented in the manual removal guide below the article. The second step can be completed by right-clicking on the browser shortcut and selecting Properties (Shortcut tab). Once there, you will have to delete all text that comes after “chrome.exe” and click OK to save made changes.
If, however, you decide to remove WebOptimum automatically, you can use the anti-malware tool presented on our page and let it clean your system. The utility will not only eliminate all potential threats from your PC, but it will also keep it safeguarded in the future.
