Remove UC Browser

What is UC Browser?

UC Browser is a browser and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). These kinds of unwanted programs usually are bundled together with freeware, which means that if you install the freeware, you install the unwanted program as well. There are ways in which you can prevent that, however, and it will be discussed later on in this article. If you install UC Browser, it will set itself as your default browser and start every time you boot your computer. Because it can enter your computer without knowing and makes unwanted changes, UC Browser is considered to be a PUP. So we suggest you delete UC Browser.

How does UC Browser spread?

PUPs are added to freeware as optional items. Most users use Default settings when they install freeware so they are not aware of any added items. By choosing those settings, you are basically giving them permission to install. That is why you need to choose Advanced or Custom settings. It only takes a second and you will be able to see all added items. If you deselect them, you will prevent them from installing. It’s that easy. If you do not want to go through the trouble of having to remove UC Browser and similar PUPs, always opt for Advanced settings.

Why should I uninstall UC Browser?

You should not trust an application that uses such a sneaky way to enter your computer. In the case of UC Browser, when it installs, it will set itself as your default browser and start automatically every time. If you use the browser, you might notice that an unusually big amount of ads keep popping up. It’s not unusual for PUP to act that way as most of them are developed to make income by exposing you to advertisements. The browser could lead you to questionable websites and if you end up with malware, UC Browser would not be responsible. It might also alter other browsers’ settings and insert ads into Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari. There are much more reliable browsers out there, ones that do not bombard you with ads every chance they get. Opt for a safer option and delete UC Browser.
