Remove Gdsmux Ads
About Gdsmux Ads
Gdsmux is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware. You might get infected by Gdsmux Ads if you carelessly install some sort of software and use Default settings. If it does end up on your computer, it will start gathering information about you, then constantly redirect you to certain websites and show you loads of ads. Gdsmux does not pose serious threat to you by itself but it can expose you to danger. Those redirects and ads might lead you to malicious websites and you might end up with malware. If you notice that it has infected your computer, you need to remove Gdsmux as soon as possible.
How does Gdsmux Ads spread
Most adware, browser hijackers and potentially unwanted programs spread via free software. Gdsmux Ads spread the same way. When you install free software, you probably use Default settings during the installation process. That is where your mistake lays. A lot of free software have additional items added to them and if they go unnoticed, they will automatically install onto your computer. Default settings do not show those items. Advanced (Custom) settings do. If you use Advanced settings, you can see what is being installed along with the software and if necessary, you can prevent the installation. If you did accidentally install this PUP, you should delete Gdsmux Ads.
What does Gdsmux Ads do
Gdsmux attaches itself to your browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or other) and starts redirecting you to weird websites. When it gets on your computer, this PUP will start collecting information (search history, sites visited, etc.) about you. It will then start redirecting you to weird sites and show you annoying ads. Those redirects and ads could be dangerous as they might lead you to dangerous domains. Those domains might have malware on it and if you were to stumble upon such domains, serious malware could download onto your computer. Just because PUPs don’t posses a direct threat to your computer, does not mean they are harmless. It will not do you any good, therefore, we recommend you uninstall Gdsmux.
